Wet wraps

Wet wrapping can help in reducing the inflammation and can improve eczema.

Creams are applied to the skin after bathing and then the torso and limbs are covered with one wet layer of bandage plus a dry layer on top. The wraps are best kept on for 24 hours, although most of the benefit is within the first few hours.

Wet wrap bandages can be used in the treatment of eczema

The wraps enable the creams to penetrate the skin more deeply, and it is also far more difficult to scratch and break the skin, therefore reducing the risk of infection.
